Promise is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephelitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile, Rabies and Botulism. She is current on hoof trims and de-wormings. She will make a wonderful pet or companion to another equine. She has had one foal and she was an excellent mother. Lay-a-way payments will be fine for up to three months.

We call her Bunny because her left ear is pink inside and it reminds us of a giant rabbit. Bunny will be shown as soon as this covid scare is over. We will begin her riding training in the fall of 2021. For now she guards our donkeys in the very back pasture and she takes her job very seriously.
We will probably breed Bunny when her show career is over and after she turns five years of age. A big 'thank you' to Candace Shauger for breeding this fine jennet and placing her in my life.

We are offering for our friend, Jill Coussens at Timber Lane Acres, one of our herdsire's dark brown with no light points jennet foal for sale. Here is what Jill has to say about Jo Jo:
"Jo Jo is very sweet and loving. She loves attention by being brushed all over and hugs. She is definitely an 'in your pocket' little jennet. We feel Jo Jo has a wonderful future either as a show jennet and/or brood jennet. She is very well put together. These photos/videos were taken of Jo Jo straight out of the pasture. We will take new photos and videos after we have cleaned her up and post them very soon.
She will be up to date on all vaccinations, de-worming and hoof trims. She will have a negative coggins and a health certificate too if shipped out of the state of Illinois. She will be registered and microchipped as well. She can be picked up or shipped from Timber Lane Acres in Cordova, Illinois."
For additional questions or more information call or text Jill at 920-988-4686 or you can reach Jill by email at: timberlaneacres3@gmail.com".

We are offering for a friend one of our herdsire's and former jennet's tyger spotted jennet foal for sale. Here is what the owner has to say about Ariel:
"Being an Aries, Ariel is appropriately named. She's a pistol. When she leaves the barn in the mornings, she buzzes by everyone to make sure they're aware she's there. She's growing up with three human little girls, goats, chickens, cats, and other mini donkeys so she's used to all the above. We're in St. Charles, Illinois. If you would rather pick her up/have her picked up from Half Ass Acres in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, we'll bring her down for an additional $100. We can bring her down the weekend of September 30 when she's weaned. We will accept Venmo or check. We're in St. Charles, Illinois. Contact Elaine Maxwell for any questions at 970-531-3255 by text or phone or e-mail adpi7197@a0l.com."
In the wee hours of the morning Bessie gave birth to the prettiest, no light point, jennet. Her color still has us guessing from time to time but after taking and looking at many pictures it has been decided she is very dark brown with no light points. I must say her adoring personality captured our attention and our hearts and once again we were “smitten” by another beautiful foal born to us at Half Ass Acres. Nothing would do but we name this beautiful little girl for what had taken place in our hearts. We were “smitten” with love for her.
Smitten wears her progeny well, taking the best from her gene pool and sporting around the pastures holding her head up high as if to say, “Surely you are “smitten” with my beauty”…and she is right. She is as stocky as she can be and stands so straight and tall. Her bite is perfect, her legs are perfect, and she is a perfect match for us.
We would love to have you visit our farm so you, too, can be “smitten” with the charm this little girl has to offer. She comes with that guarantee for sure.
All the hugs and kisses she will give you are free!
Smitten has been body clipped and new photos and videos were taken on September 15th, 2015, one week after giving birth to her very first foal.

Lacie was shown once that we are aware of at the 2006 Iowa Donkey & Mule Society show as a two year old. She placed 3rd out of 8 entries in the Jennets Two & Over class judged by Irvin Williams. Lacie's dam, Sutherlin's Little Zsha Zsha, placed first out of eleven entries in the trail class at the same show.
Lacie was just a backyard pet for many years before we added her to our herd. She is pastured with Goosebumps for a foal due in 2022. Her last heat cycle was 4/03/21. This will be our third spot to spot pairing in all of our years of breeding donkeys. In the past it has produced two gray-dun foals. It will be interesting to see what this breeding produces. We are not positive that Lacey has settled in foal and she has been separated from the jack.
Lacie is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile, Tetanus, Rabies and Botulism. She was last de-wormed with Equimax on 12/13/21 and her hooves were last trimmed on 11/28/21 but will be freshly trimmed before she leaves for her new home. She is very sweet and easy to catch and handle. We are selling her as exposed but not guaranteed in foal.
This will be Lacie's last foal as she has been diagnosed with laminitis. When this next foal is weaned we will retire Lacie or find her a suitable pet home as having babies might be too painful for her in the future.
Going to be best friends
with Ruby and Misty May.
Lacie has produced the following foals that we are aware of:
1) Sunny G's Lucky Star, 3/27/07, Dk Brown Jennet w/Star,

Yummy was rejected by her maiden mother but we totally take the blame for that rejection. We had been up practically all night attending the birth of Burns who was born just past midnight the same day (see the next foal below). We knew that Smooch was getting ready to foal but we both fell fast asleep while watching her on our cam. In reviewing the birth footage on our cam we could see that Smooch was licking her foal and doing just fine until the baby toppled into the pee spot in the front right of the stall. Smooch was also upset by her placenta that we were not there to tie up and out of her way. We awakened just in time to see her kicking at her foal and we quickly intervened. We called our vet, Dr. Greg Harris, and our friends, Katie and Maria Randall, but no matter how much Smooch was drugged we could not get her to take the foal. We did milk Smooch for several hours and fed the baby her first milk that contains antibodies to protect her from diseases. We are now bottle raising Yummy and she has a surrogate mom, Ginger, that adopted her.
So she is doing just great. We feel certain that Smooch will be a great mom when she has her next foal.
Yummy was named by my two sisters: Terre named her Milky Way and Lynn thought of her barn name, Yummy!
We will offer Yummy to those on our waiting list after we have taken the last two foal's photos/videos so our customers can choose between them.

Our first foal of the season and we were not disappointed. We think he is a dark brown and white but we see light hairs in his coat in the sunlight that gives him a bluish gray shade. Time will tell what color is really under that foal coat.
Mojo has been sold to a new miniature donkey farm very close by, Southern ASSpitality Miniature Donkeys in Wartrace, Tennessee. They talked me right out of his mom, Smitten, too. I really had no intentions of selling her but I can visit her often and it is a great home. Joe and I are really cutting back on our numbers in our twilight years. Mojo was named by his proud new owners. You can see his many videos on their Tic Tok account by clicking this link.

We are offering for a friend one of our herdsire's and former jennet's black jack foal for sale. Here is what the owner has to say about Charming:
"Charming is just that. I have to watch out before I back up because he's typically right on my heels. His mom was tired from labor so we assisted her. I was the first one he saw so we have a special bond. He is one beautiful boy and he likes to run past the other minis while they're grazing in hopes to get someone to chase after him. He's growing up with three human little girls, goats, chickens, cats, and other mini donkeys so he's used to all the above. We're in St. Charles, Illinois. If you would rather pick him up/have him picked up from Half Ass Acres, we'll bring him down for an additional $100. We can bring him down the weekend of September 30 when he's weaned. Will accept Venmo or check. Contact Elaine Maxwell for any questions at 970-531-3255 by text or phone or e-mail adpi7197@a0l.com."
He is mostly white with two dark eyes and two dark ears. He is a tiny little thing. He will be offered as a gelding only. We will take photos later this week. It is much to hot this week to get him out in this weather. Promises is being a great first time mom.
Punchline a.k.a. Joker is the sweetest boy you could ever want. He is a masked spot which means he can produce a spotted foal 50% (or more) of the time no matter what color jennet he is bred to. We will be offering him to our customers that already have deposits with us and if they pass on him we will offer him to the public.
