Smitten's second foal and she did not disappoint. She is a dark brown *masked spotting factor jennet with a huge star, stripe and snip. Masked spotting factor just means that although she is not spotted she will have a 50/50 chance of producing a spot no matter what she is bred to. This is one of the most unusually marked foals we have ever had.
Congratulations to

Bow's baby was breech and she was in labor for nearly two hours before
our vet arrived who was on another call and delivered the baby alive! A true miracle...she is a gorgeous, tiny,
dark spot but she was born without a tail or anus. We took her to UT Vet Hospital where they constructed her anus. A big thank you to our own personal and wonderful vet, Dr. Greg Harris, for saving her life!!!!

Pony-Tail is continuing to do well and is as happy as she can
be running around our farm.
New photos above were taken on August 31st, 2010, with our great friend's, Maria Randall, assistance!
We did not think we would ever part with Pony-Tail but Joe and I are both getting up there in age and we found the perfect home for PTL and Lady Like together where they will get the individual attention that they deserve. Sometimes you have to put your personal feelings aside and do what is best for the donkey.

is a dark brown and white, apron face, with no light points, jennet. When she is body clipped she is so dark that she looks like a black/roan and white spot.
has attended parades, birthday parties, graduations, nursing homes, etc., and she is brave enough to enter any building or do anything that you ask of her.
She never meets a stranger and she is not intimated by much of anything. Whenever she performs she does it with her whole heart. As an example of this when she is jumping the blue barrels in the video it was her first time. You can see that she would try to jump over the moon if you asked.
She is up to date on hoof trims, de-wormings and all vaccinations including West Nile, Rabies, Eastern/Western Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus, Rhino and Influenza. She has a negative coggins test dated 3/13/15. L is double registered with the Miniature Donkey Registry and The American Council of Spotted Asses..
UPDATE!!! This little girl had upper fixation of the patella in both rear legs. Lady Like had an operation on April 9th, 2015, that corrected this condition but it is hereditary and she should not be bred as the condition could be passed on. Our vet advised us to teach her how to drive and to put two twenty-five lb. buckets (for a total of 50 lbs.) of sand in the cart since she was too young to pull a full size adult. Dena line drove her everywhere and this is how L was the winner of the driving award for 2014, with nearly 60 hours pulling a cart. Lady Like is now old enough to pull a cart with an adult driving.
Not for sale at this time as she is recovering from her leg operation and doing just great. We may offer her for sale at a later date when her stitches are removed and her incisions have healed but she is doing so well we may just keep her for another ambassador donkey at Half Ass Acres. Roger said he could use the help. Both Roger and L were trained by Dena Wilson to pull a cart and we are having so much fun with them both.
We did not think we would ever part with Lady Like but Joe and I are both getting up there in age and we found the perfect home for PTL and Lady Like together where they will get the individual attention that they both deserve. They will both be staying close by in Tennessee and if the need ever arises due to unforeseen circumstances they will come back to live at Half Ass Acres.

Satin is another one of the last jennets from Merry-Go-Round Miniatures when they dispersed their herd. She does not have even a hint of a cross or stripe. If I had known how well I was going to like Marlene's Merry-Go-Round girls I would have purchased more. It was very cloudy and overcast the day we took Satin's photos and videos. We may try again another day when the weather is nicer. Satin has been hand bred to Kryptonite for a foal due the last week of June 2017. Satin is now at the barn off of the fescue grass and she is bagging up.
We absolutely love this fancy jennet. She has a personality to go right along with her looks too. The first day we took her on the trail course she took to it like a duck takes to water. We are so excited to add her to our show string this year. So many donkeys..so little time!! But we will always have time to show a donkey as magical as Magic...she is spellbinding. Magic is one of my very favorites.
We took Magic to her first and only show in 2016 and she tied for NMDA Reserve High Point Pre-Green Donkey at the Music City show in July of 2016. We are so very proud of her. We left her at home the rest of the year only because it is just too stressful to show more than four donkeys. She has 2 halter points and 17 in-hand points that she earned at one show! This little donkey will be a deluxe trail donkey. She has the willingness and attitude of a future champion.
Magic has a current negative coggins report and she is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, Rabies and Botulism. This is a very sweet jennet that would not be offered for sale if not for needing the extra money to finish our indoor arena that we are paying for as we build instead of financing.

We are thrilled to have this tiny "knock- out" black jenny with a huge star added to our brood jennet band.
She has a beautiful and very unusual “blue” eye. (although, as ADMS explains, it is technically a “grey” eye unlike the blue pinto eye).
We are very excited to add her to our herd but very sad that Jane Savage of Flight of Fancy Miniatures is now retiring from the miniature donkey business so that she and her husband will be free to travel around the world if they like. Jane has been a valuable asset to the miniature donkey world and a wonderful mentor to me. Thank you, Jane, for allowing your best to come and live at Half Ass Acres! Please don't ask me if I will sell this jennet. I want her to stay right here at Half Ass Acres. I have already been talked out of too many of my Flight of Fancy girls and I just don't want to part with any more of them.
The updated photos above were taken in October 2017 right before she left for her new home in Australia.
Ch Chime was sold as a weanling and we just purchased her back when her owner decided she no longer is breeding miniature donkeys. Ch Chime is on the show circuit with us this year and she has already won several blue ribbons at prestigious shows while being handled by Katie Randall.
We have updated her video below to include her show photos. She clipped off to be a black and white spotted...very rare indeed! Photos above were taken on July 20th, 2015, with the expert help of her handler/trainer, Katie Randall.
Ch Chime has earned her Excellence in Halter with limited showing in NMDA sanctioned shows in Tennessee only!
Ch Chime was the 2015 High Point Color Donkey of Tennessee and the 2015 Reserve High Point Halter Jennet of Tennessee. Chime was also the High Point Color Donkey of Tennessee in 2016 as well.
We had no intentions of selling Ch Chime but we were simply made an offer we could not refuse. We hope that Shane will love Ch Chime and her dam, Ch Ching, as much as we do. We are going to dearly miss them.

We just recentely purchased her back when Jane sadly retired from the miniature donkey business so she could travel. This jennet is a full sister to the late and great Half

a full sister to Half Ass Acres Splish

We plan to breed Viola this year to Zhivago for a foal due in 2018. Update! Viola has been washed and clipped and is now blanketed in a stall with her half sister waiting for their photo session later today. I washed and clipped her all by myself...even her ears and she and her sister were two little dolls. Viola's color is just gorgeous...she is a dark chocolate brown with roaning all through out her coat. She has a lot of different shades in her brown that gives her a striking marbled look.
As always a big 'thank you' to my friend and partner, Katie Randall, for handling all the donkeys for their photos and videos. She is the best!

Fancy is the herd boss and because of that she tends to get heavy because of stealing grain from her pasture mates. Her best friends are Trick 'em and Sugar. She is a great mom and has easy births. I so wanted to keep this jennet because of her unusual coloring, the champion foals she has produced and because of her sweet nature but, alas, she had to be sacrificed to finance the finishing touches on our new indoor arena.
Fancy is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino and Influenze that she last had on March 1st, 2017. She was vaccinated for West Nile and Rabies on 6/18/17. She had her hooves last trimmed on 4/25/17. She was last de-wormed with Zimectrin Gold on 4/25/17. She has a negative coggins report dated 5/01/17. She is registered and microchipped and her transfer and papers are in order.

Here is our first jennet we are offering for sale that came from Troytown Acres in South Carolina. Brown Sugar is a beautiful mover as you can see from her video. She is a very sweet jennet that is easy to handle but hard to catch. She was mistreated in her younger years before she was owned by Troytown Acres and she has a hard time trusting people. But once you catch her she couldn't be nicer. She wears a break-a-way halter that will be sold with her. She gets along fine with other donkeys in the herd. She is easy to trim her hooves and to wash, clip and photograph...she is just the perfect lady. Along with her eyecatching movement she also has the most perfect topline you could ask for. She passes these traits on to her foals. She is also a size reducer as all of her foals have matured smaller than she.
Sugar is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino and Influenze that she last had on March 1st, 2017. She was vaccinated for West Nile and Rabies on 5/21/17. She had her hooves last trimmed on 5/20/17. She was last de-wormed with Zimectrin Gold on 4/30/17. She has a negative coggins report dated 5/01/17. She is registered and microchipped and her papers are in order. We forgot to photograph her bite but it is perfect.
She is now pastured with our small black and white spotted herdsire, Kryptonite, for a foal due on 5/25/18, as her last heat cycle was on 5/25/17 . She is selling as exposed but not guaranteed as it is to early to have her tested but she will remain pastured with Kryptonite until she leaves our farm.
Sugar has had the following six foals in her lifetime:
1) 2006 - Troytown's Sugar Coded,
a small 30¼" tri-colored spotted jack;
2) 2007 - Troytown's Code Blue, a gray/white spotted gelding;
3) 2009 Troytown's Code of Conduct, a small tri-colored champion jennet now owned by Brayberry Farm in Arkansas;
4) 2012 Troytown's Code Violation, a 31¼" beautiful tri-colored jennet now owned by Malakai Stud in Australia.
5) 2014 - Troytown's Mud Pi Coded, a nice gray jennet (photos and info coming soon);

Trick-a-Boo was the first foal ever born at Troytown Acres and she had never been off the farm until she arrived at Half Ass Acres. She was registered by inspection do to an accidental breeding of her dam by a jack who was visiting the farm where her dam lived at the time. Can we say 'parenthesis ears'!! She has the best set of ears in the miniature donkey world and she knows how to use them. Trickster never backs an ear! She is an easy breeder and all of her foals have been healthy. She is a wonderful mother. She loves to be groomed and petted on. She will roll her head when she is agitated. She has been known to 'borrow' foal from her friends. This will make her invaluable if you should ever, God forbid, lose a mom with a foal on her side. She is best friends with Fancy and Sugar. We are so pleased that all of these girls that have never been separated are staying together.

Luckily we were up and watching our barn cam in the bedroom and saw Dolly start her labor. We barely made it to the barn in time to move her to the foaling stall and assist with her birth. We did not take a birth video. Dolly is being the ideal first time mom and baby was up and nursing in record time. She has a fantastic spot pattern with two dark eyes with eyeliner all the way around both eyes and she has one dark ear and one white ear that resembles a bunny rabbit. Her ears are especially, extremely long. It took me forever to pick out my favorite photos and I am still not sure I picked out the best ones. Dessa is one of the last jennets from Merry-Go-Round Miniatures when they dispersed their herd. She is a true black and does not have even a hint of a cross or stripe. She is as sweet as she is beautiful. Dessa has had one foal that was not in the correct position and did not make it before the vet could get the baby out. We have tried for over a year to settle Iridessa in foal but we were unsuccessful. Our vet examined her and found her uterus to be very small. We are now offering her as a barren jennet at a pet price. She would make a wonderful show or companion donkey. She must go to a home with another donkey or equine for companionship. This is a very social donkey and she would not thrive in a home alone.
Dessa is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, Rabies, Botulism, Rhino, Influenza, Tetanus and Eastern/Western Encephalomyelitis. She just had her teeth floated by an equine dentist on 3/3/17. Her hooves were trimmed by a professional farrier on 3/06/17. She measures a solid 31.5" tall. My, oh my, what a special doll this tiny girl is. She certainly takes after her mother, Sweet Punch, and grandmother, Sweet Pea, by being as sweet and friendly as they come. Tipsy does not have a shy bone in her tiny body. We thought we had Tipsy sold but our customers ran into building problems and had to back out. We are considering keeping Tipsy for ourselves now but we might be talked into letting her go if the right person comes along. A big 'thank you!' to our friend Courtney Farr Cassidy for coming up with the perfect name for this little girl.

Daisy May just arrived at Half Ass Acres and she is a sweetheart. She just turned four years of age and she is ready to be added to your brood jennet band now. Daisy is a very personable girl and never meets a stranger. She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encepalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, Rabies and West Nile. Shes had her initial vaccination of Prestige V + West Nile on 11/24/16 and a booster on 12/21/16. She had a rabies vaccination on 11/24/16 as well. So she is up to date on her vaccinations until this time next year. She had her hooves done by a professional farrier on 12/21/16. She is also current on de-worming. Daisy has a negative coggins report dated 12/05/16. She has been microchipped and her papers are in order. She is registered as red but in her winter coat she has more of a very pretty pink tone to her. Daisy May is a grand daughter of The Fireman and a great grand daughter of Valintino 50 on her dam's side. You are welcome to visit anytime to see any of these girls for yourself in person.

Witchy just arrived at Half Ass Acres and we are evaluating her now to decide on a fair price. She will be ready to be added to your brood jennet band in a year or two. You can take her to shows next spring and enjoy her for awhile before she is old enough to have foals. She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encepalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, Rabies and West Nile. She had her initial vaccination of Prestige V + West Nile on 11/24/16 and a booster on 12/21/16. She had a rabies vaccination on 11/24/16 as well. So she is up to date on her vaccinations until this time next year. She had her hooves done by a professional farrier on 12/21/16. She is also current on de-worming. She has been microchipped and her papers have not yet been sent in so you can name her with your farm name and your name of choice or I will be glad to send her papers in for you. Witchy has a negative coggins report dated 12/05/16. She measures under 34½" and her bite is good. Witchy has not been handled a lot so we will keep her for awhile to teach her the basics and then offer her for your consideration. She has very correct conformation with straight legs and a stocky build. Witchy is a grand daughter of The Fireman and a great grand daughter of Valintino 50 on her dam's side. Zoo is a true black and white...no matter what time of the year it is his black stays as black as black can be. He is heavy boned with a beautiful straight topline, straight wide legs with good width between them. He is also a 'no light point' carrier. He has a very easy going temperement to compliment his great looks. Zoo has only produced dark spots or solid darks and according to my friend, Marlene Clark that I consider a genetics/color expert, it is not possible for Zoo to produce the dun color (unless he is bred to a jennet carrying the dun gene) because he is not carrying a copy of the dun gene. He has proven that in the past by not producing a single dun color when bred to all of Marlene's black jennets. Dun is dominant and it is not possible for it to hide. If it was present it would be expressed in his offspring. Thank you to Marlene and Connie for selling this fine jack to us.
These fantastic photos and videos would not have been possible without the expert handling of Katie Randall!

Presenting Secret Code...a proven Champion producer and a multiple Champion himself. This jack is so full of personalty that we play with him all day long. He could not have a nicer temperement or be easier to handle. The only thing he objects to is having his ears and his lower legs clipped. But we found that if you don't try to rush him and take your time he will tolerate it.
Code loves any kind of attention you will give him. He is quite intelligent too and picks up new things in record time with a willing attitude. Code has won Best of Breed and Grand Champion Jack several times in his show career. He was also the American Council of Spotted Asses National Champion. He was the South Carolina State Fair Grand Champion for five years in a row. He is trained well for halter and in-hand obstacles. It would not take long to teach him how to drive and what a sharp looking driving donkey he would make.
He is an easy breeder and has been pastured with jennets for most of his breeding career.
He has sired 25 foals and 15 of those foals have been spotted making his percentage of producing spots at 60%. He has sired 13 jennets and 12 jacks.
Code is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino and Influenze that he last had on March 1st, 2017. He was vaccinated for West Nile and Rabies on 5/28/17. He had his hooves last trimmed on 4/29/17. He was last de-wormed with Zimectrin Gold on 4/26/17. He is double registered and microchipped and his papers are in order. He has a negative coggins report dated 5/01/17.
Code is a really fun donkey to own. If you want him on your farm you better hurry and put down a deposit as I don't think he will last for long.
Here is a list of most of the foals that Code has produced:
2006:
Troytown's Sugar Coded,
a small 30¼" tri-colored spotted jack;
Troytown's Dress Code, black jennet;
Troytown's Miscoded Trick, black jennet;
Troytown's DeCoded Traveller, gray jack;
Troytowns' CodaCrome, gray/white spotted jack;
Troytown's Code Breaker, black jennet;
Troytown's Codak Moment, spotted jack.
2007:
Troytown's Code Blue, a gray/white spotted gelding;
Troytown's Zip Code, black jack w/nlp;
Troytown's Code Blue, gray/white spotted jack.
2009: Troytown's Code of Conduct, a small tri-colored champion jennet now owned by Brayberry Farm in Arkansas;
Troytown's Area Code, spotted jennet;
Troytown's Code of Silence, 32" black/white tyger spotted jennet now owned by Half Ass Acres.
2012: Troytown's Code Violation, a 31¼" tri-colored jennet now owned by Shane Carey in Australia;
2014: Troytown's Mud Pi Coded, a nice gray jennet;

Toby was just bathed and clipped in the photos above. (Note how Katie trimmed out a heart on Toby's hip.) Toby is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile (6/06/17) and Rabies (5/18/16). He has been regularly de-wormed and he has a negative coggins dated 6/06/17.
Toby is trained to drive and started on in-hand performance. He has also been driven as a team many times. Toby is a sweetheart. Easy to catch and handle and a doll for his bath and hair cut. Toby has a lot of get up and go. We have had our equine dentist float his teeth and pull his wolf teeth and now he drives like a dream. Toby would be a great project for someone that wanted to show as he loves to go and has a lot of speed. He would be very competitive in speed classes. He is a fun in-hand trail donkey. It did not take us but one time to show him something new and he tried his best to please us. He would be a wonderful addition to your family as he could take you for drives or just be a pet if you so desired. Toby will be sold with his cart and harness.

Well, it is official...Boy Toy is the lightest foal ever born at Half Ass Acres. We will find out if he is also the shortest when we measure him later today. (Update: Two others of our previous foals were born shorter: Roger @ 17¾" tall & 15¼ lbs. and Tiny Dancer @ 17½" tall & 15¾ lbs.) His mom was several weeks late in delivering so we can only imagine how tiny he might have been if he had been born on his due date. It was another rough start as Toy loved her new foal but was frightened of him nursing for the first time. Three and a half hours of coaxing and she finally settled into motherhood like a pro. This little boy has a super wide chest for a foal so very tiny. Thank you to WyCheri at marestare for giving him his perfect name!
Katie has worked with Boy Toy for just a few sessions and we videoed it for you to see what she has accomplished working with little Boy Toy. This is one striking little boy with his banana ears and only measuring a mire 26 ¾" at two years of age. Boy Toy may well be one of the smallest miniature donkeys in the world. We will be taking new photos and videos of him very soon in his summer coat.

We purchased Tank from a couple that sold their farm and were moving to a place that did not allow donkeys. They purchased him when he was just weaned for a friend for their other gelding that lost his best buddy due to an unknown illness. They both have just been pasture ornaments and pets their whole lives.
We had Tank gelded (castrated) by our vet on 5/30/17, and he has completely recovered. His previous owners could only remember that they purchased him in the fall of 2014 when he was weaned from his mom's side. Our vet checked his teeth and said that he just turned three years old so we guessed that his birthday was 5/30/14. As you can see by his photos and videos he is quite the tank and would make an impressive halter and performance gelding if someone wanted to take the time to train him. He is very willing and intelligent and likes to please.
His previous owners could not remember where they purchased him so I have no way of tracing down his pedigree. However he can be registered in the American Donkey Registry and we are sending his papers in this week. If he sells before I mail them in I will allow you to be the first person to register him and you can use your farm name as his prefix if you so desire.
Tank was vaccinated with Prestige V + West Nile on 5/25/17, and he was give a booster of the same on 6/26/17. This vaccination includes Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenze and West Nile. He was vaccinated for Rabies on 6/07/17. He had his hooves last trimmed by a professional farrier on 5/25/17 but they will be trimmed again before he leaves for his new home. He was last de-wormed with Equimax on 7/12/17. He has a negative coggins report dated 5/30/17. We microchipped him when he arrived at our farm on 5/25/17 and we will be mailing his papers soon to have him registered in the American Donkey Registry. If you like to win blue ribbons in halter classes you should seriously consider Think Tank.
As always a big 'thank you' to my friend and partner, Katie Randall, for handling all the donkeys for their photos and videos. All of the profit from the sale of this donkey will be going towards the 'Katie wants a dream horse' fund!

This is Bet's very first foal. She was a pet for eight years of her life until we purchased her due to her owner's health problems. Bets took to motherhood like a duck takes to water. Nothing seemed to phase her like it does most maidens. She loves her baby and it is easy to understand why. He appears to be black or very dark brown. He has no light points and he arrived without a shy bone in his body. In keeping with our Kryptonite theme of naming his foals after super heros Grace named her new baby The Flash. She wanted a spotted girl but she took one look at Flash and it was love at first site. Grace and her family visited on May 27th, 2017, and helped us take the photos and videos now posted. Flash loves to raise his upper lip and give everyone a big smile. He loves to be held too and will happily go sound asleep in your arms when he is worn out from tearing around his stall...like The Flash!
Photos and videos were taken with his new owner, Grace. It was an overcast day with no sun out but we did the best that we could.

Brill came to live at Half Ass Acres when Troytown Acres in South Carolina dispersed their entire herd due to health reasons. He was born on the exact same day as his best friend, Justy, and they have never been separated. Brill is as sweet as he looks. There is something about him that just makes you fall in love. Brill was born with gray and white spots but he has almost completely frosted out except for a little gray shading along his topline. Brill is very sweet and he never moved while he was being body clipped. He even allowed me to clip the inside of his ears and his head with no assistance. Brill was shy when he first arrived at Half Ass Acres but now he comes running to me at a full gallop when we clean his pasture and barn each day. Brill has an underbite so he is being sold as a pet only. It does not affect his eating in anyway. Included in his purchase price will be two weeks of free training for in-hand trail by our very capable trainer, Katie Randall! She has already started working with him and Brill is very willing to learn and wants to please.
Brill was vaccinated with a 4 in 1 vaccination by his previous owner on 4/01/17. We vaccinated him for West Nile on 6/12/17 and we will give him a booster of West Nile in 3 to 4 weeks. We also vaccinated him for Rabies on 6/12/17. He will be up to date on his vaccinations until next spring. He had his hooves last trimmed by a professional farrier on 5/04/17 and they will be trimmed again before he leaves for his new home. He was last de-wormed with Equimax on 6/13/17. Fantastic photos Julia!! And thank you to Kathy Loudamy of K& K Ranch for entrusting us with such a precious donkey. It is a privilege to care for such a special little guy. You have never seen a more perfect set of legs on a donkey. I don't think I ever loved a baby more than this one. I was his mom and it was my job to discipline him. Because of that their was a very strong bond between us. We have decided to offer Doo Dah for sale. We just have too many geldings to give them all the attention that they deserve. Doo-Dah has been started in in-hand trail obstacle work. He is up to date on all vaccinations, hoof trimmings, de-worming, etc. He needs to be paired with another gelding. He does not do well pastured with open jennets as he aggravates them when they come in season.

We purchased Beretta from a couple that sold their farm and were moving to a place that did not allow donkeys. He has just been a pasture pet for many, many years and was pastured with a jack (also offered for sale on this page but who is now a gelding). These two do not have to be sold together because they are not bonded. Beretta was allowed free access to all the pasture he wanted and is overweight at this time but we have him in a dry lot and on a diet and it won't take him very long to be in top shape. He will be a very handsome boy when he has trimmed down.
Beretta's registration papers have his color as black but he is a dark red/brown. His registration papers and transfer are all in order.
Beretta was shy the first few days we owned him but with attention he has turned into a sweetheart. He is very intelligent and eager to learn and could one day make a top notch halter and performance gelding if you desired to spend the time with him. He absolutely loves attention. He is very easy to care for and does all his business in one neat pile. He can be pastured with foals or jennets. He gets along with them all. As you can see in the video he has a slight overbite but it does not affect him in any way. He will just need to have his teeth floated once per year like all donkeys need.
Beretta was vaccinated with Prestige V + West Nile on 5/25/17. We will give him a booster 3 to 4 weeks after that date and then he will be up to date until this time next year. He was last de-wormed with Equimax on 5/25/17. He has a negative coggins report dated 5/30/17.
