Click sticker for Girlie's pedigree! (coming soon)
Girlie was born at Half Ass Acres but she and her dam, Sierra, belong to Malaiki Stud in Australia. She is being offered for sale.
Here is a note from her owner Shane Carey:
"We purchased Girlie's dam, Sierra Mist, with the intention of mating her to Speedy to produce a dark spot which is exactly what we wanted, however, unfortunately we are unable to take Girly home on our current shipment to Australia so our loss is the buyers gain."
Girlie is being offered first to our customers who have already put down deposits. Lay-a-way payments are fine as long as you send us a payment each month so we will know that you have not forgotten about your donkey. The donkey must be paid for in full before she leave for her new home. We wean our foals at five months of age or later. We will be glad to hold until Christmas or in some cases longer...just ask. Girlie will be up to date on all vaccinations (including first vaccine and booster three weeks later) of Eastern/Western Encephaliti, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile and Rabies. Her hooves will be freshly trimmed and she will be up to date on de-worming as well. Girlie will come with a brand new halter and lead rope.

What
a dark little doll she is. Her dam is a very nice 31¾" dark brown daughter
of Top Gun. Her sire is 303/8" Little Buckaroo who is drafty and black
with no cross. We purchased Ramona at The Great American Miniature Donkey
Sale in Ohio July 28th, 2007. We are so pleased with her. She is as sweet
as she can be. She was so tiny that we waited until she was 4 years
old to breed her. Ramona did so well that we now don't breed any of our jennets until they are at least four years of age so that they are a mature five years of age when they have their first foal.

Shivers is a gorgeous dark tyger spotted jennet that I have no doubt will shed or clip off to be a black and white spot. She is super friendly and has inherited all of the best qualities of her sire and dam. Shivers will be offered for sale to our customers that have deposits with us for our 2020 foals. If they turn her down she will be listed on our for sale page. We really wanted to keep this jennet but we are already at our limit for keeping foals this year.

Here is the one everyone has been waiting for! Heart is one of the last two jennets belonging to Bob & Cindy Lowenstein at Sunset Acres in Nebraska. One of the most renowned miniature donkey breeder farms in the country. Bob and Cindy have sadly retired from the donkey business due to health issues. Heart and her best friend, Queenie, were his two very favorite jennets.
Heart is the most adorable long haired wooly you have ever laid your eyes on. I so wanted to keep this jennet just to teach her tricks and have her in my life but my husband and I have all we can handle at this time. Bob sent his last two favorite donkeys to us so that we could find them the perfect home. We have had them all summer but we did not advertise them because we wanted to take our time and find the perfect home for them both. They are to be sold as pets only and not to be used for breeding at Bob's request.
These two girls are going to a first time donkey owner as pets less than 35 miles away and they are promised back to us if for any reason they can not care for them.
Heart is up to date on the following vaccinations: Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile and Rabies. Her hooves will be freshly trimmed before she goes and she is current on de-wormings as well. Heart is registered and microchipped to comply with the Miniature Donkey Association rules.

I am so tempted to keep this girl but we have retained her sister that was Sweetie's last foal, Little White Lie (Liza), born in 2018 that we are absolutely thrilled with.

We sold Butters in 2019 as a companion for a wonderful 29 year old retired mare but sadly that horse passed away recently. Butters returned to us so she could be placed in another home that had a companion for her. She and Miss Syria (above) would be perfect together if you don't own another donkey.

Taylor belongs to my great friend, Di Hildebrandt, at Critter Haven Farm in Pennsylvania. Taylor has never settled in foal so Di sent her to us to see if we might be successful. If we fail she will be sold to a pet home only. Di is giving me one year to give it our best shot.
Taylor is tiny and stocky with an adorable personality. I sure hope we have success with her. Our vets will give her a thorough examination before we try to breed her in the fall of 2019. Taylor has been hand bred to Speedy four times for a foal due the first week of October in 2020. Fingers crossed she does not come back in season. Update. Taylor came back in season on 4/14/20. She is still pastured with Speedy. We are selling Taylor as a barren jennet as she has never had a foal. She is a sweetheart...very friendly, easy to catch and handle. She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile, Rabies and Botulism.

We are offering Elvira for sale as a show jennet only. She developed upward fixation of the pattella in both hind legs when she was heavy in foal. Dr. Bennet, an outstanding vet in Shelbyville, Tn, who is an expert on this condition operated on both of her hind legs but she still sometimes has a slight jerk in her left hind. This does not deter her in anyway from being a show jennet. She is trained to drive (pull a cart) and has won National Championships in driving classes. She has won so many blue ribbons in halter and performance classes that it would be difficult to list them all here.
She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile, Rabies and Botulism. Elvira has a very comical personality that will keep you entertained. She loves to climb on things. She even jumps in the back of our work truck whenever she so desires whether she is asked or not. There is never a dull moment around Elvira. I hate to part with her but I do not want to take the chance that she may pass on that condition to any future foals. She has had one foal for us that does not have this condition. I would keep her for a show jennet but I already have three other jennets that I will be showing next year and they are a matched trio.
Elvira is a higher caliber show jennet than all three of the ones I am keeping but I do not want to break up my matched trio as it would be so hard to replace them. It took me years to find them. So I am hoping to sell Elvira far, far away so I do not have to compete against her!
Dee is a super friendly jennet with an impressive pedigree on her top side. She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, Rabies and West Nile. She has a negative coggins report dated 7/08/19. She has been regularly de-wormed. She has just been a pet her entire life but she can certainly be used for a brood jennet if you so desire.

Bee was sold as a yearling in 2004 at The Great American Donkey Sale in Ohio for $4500. We were happy to welcome her back to Half Ass Acres in August of 2010. Bee is a full sister to Ma Bell, Hey Sailor and Miss HiFalutin. She is a half sister to Paper Tyger.
Bee is pastured with Goosebumps and her last heat cycle was 12/09/19. She has not had a foal since 2015 so we are offering her as a pet to some lucky person. Since she is still with the jack there is a very slight chance that she may be in foal but we do not think so. A breeding certificate will be provided with her just in case she is in foal. She has been checked for infections and found to be clean. We think she was just overbred as a youngster by a previous owner and bred at too young of an age and she is finished having foals.
Bee has a delightful personality and she is small and compact. She is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile, Rabies and Botulism. She has a current negative coggins report. She has been on a regular de-worming schedule. Her hooves will be freshly trimmed before she leaves. We would love to see her go to a forever home as a pet or companion donkey. She would be an excellent therepy donkey. Bee is easy to catch and handle.
As with all of our donkeys if you should ever not be able to care for BeDazzled we would certainly take her back and let her live out her life at Half Ass Acres. We feel we owe that to all of the donkeys that we have brought into this world.

Our barn cams are still down for repairs. We had last checked on Cake at 3pm and all was well. We went back out to do chores at 6pm and there was the baby already up and nursing. This is what happens if you let your guard down for one minute. Walker looks almost like an exact replica of his mom.
Walker is a super friendly, well-balanced and stocky boy. He is super friendly and would make a nice herd sire and an even nicer show gelding for someone. He will be double registered, microchipped and up to date on the following vaccinations: Eastern/Western Enchepalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile and Rabies. If you prefer him gelded we will have that done at our expense when he is five months of age. Walker is being offered first to our customers who have already put down deposits. Lay-a-way payments are fine as long as you send us a payment each month so we will know that you have not forgotten about your donkey. Buddy
was my first donkey gelding so I guess
you could say he started my love affair
with geldings although I have had gelding
'horses' all of my life. I trained Buddy how to bow and the above photo is the two of us competing in a large costume class about sixteen years ago. A special 'thank you' to my former co-worker, Ralph Barger, for doing our clown make up that day.
Buddy was sold in 2005 to a very nice lady that has owned him for over 15 years. She just returned Buddy in December of 2019 as she was going through a divorce and had sold her farm. We have gladly welcomed Buddy back into our home. His previous owner hated to see him go but she had no other choice. She said it was the best money she ever spent when she purchased Buddy. Buddy is as sweet as ever. Buddy will remain here to live out his life unless I can find him a two-donkey (or one horse) home where he will get more attention than he does here due to our being responsible for so many donkeys. Buddy is up to date on the following vaccinations: Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile and Rabies. He is regularly de-wormed and he just had his hooves trimmed by a professional farrier. Buddy gets along with all animals and people.
