In
honor of our visitors, Ed and Angela Preston of Hill Country Miniatures
in Texas, who were visiting at the time of his
birth, we decided
to name this boy Presto. Thank you to Wendy Lyon for dreaming up the
perfect name. It was truly an “abracadabra
moment”
for all of us….when he was finally on the stall floor we could tell that he was
one magnificent boy. He is a big boy and one that I would love to keep and train
as my very own gelding. No doubt he has the looks to catch the judge’s eye and
his personally is just as magical as his looks. I can see him now in a polished
harness strutting his stuff in the show ring. He is one of the prettiest newborn
donkeys you have ever seen. Presto has
blue/grey eyes like several of his half brothers and sisters sired
by Itsy Bitsy Front and Center. His newborn pictures and videos
say it all!

High Point Gelding of the Year owned and shown by Kathy Loudamy
at K & K
Ranch in Texas. Mookie has a beautiful head and is a great little
driving gelding. He is a beautiful mover and can really move out.
He was trained by Wayne Lyon at Stonegate
Acres in Canada and shown
very briefly this year by Kathy Loudamy at K&K
Ranch. He was Reserve
Champion Halter Gelding at the Texas Shoot Out in Bryan, Texas
in June 2009. Now he may be shown by our great niece, Emily, in
youth events. Time will tell if she is really serious about showing
next year! Even if Emily does not want to show, Mookie now has
a stable home right here at Half Ass Acres. I just can't live my
life without, at least, one performance gelding around! Everyone
should own one or two or three!

Doo-Dah was rejected by his first time mom. He came to live at Half Ass Acres when he was one day old. Thank you to Julia Vaughn, JKV Designs, for assisting in Doo-Dah's photo shoot.
