You can see the foals we have sold on our newborn page. We don't duplicate their information on the sold page as each of our newborns have their own individual page.

Update: We are no longer using this page. We are listing donkeys sold by each year. This page was too bulky and would not load for most users..especially cell phone users. So this page only has some of the jacks we have sold. You will have to visit our year by year sold pages to see them all.

Click MDR sign for  Miniature Donkey Registry Pedigree Zoo's pedigree!

Zoo is a true black and white...no matter what time of the year it is his black stays as black as black can be. He is heavy boned with a beautiful straight topline, straight wide legs with good width between them. He is also a 'no light point' carrier. He has a very easy going temperement to compliment his great looks. Zoo has only produced dark spots or solid darks and according to my friend, Marlene Clark that I consider a genetics/color expert, it is not possible for Zoo to produce the dun color (unless he is bred to a jennet carrying the dun gene) because he is not carrying a copy of the dun gene. He has proven that in the past by not producing a single dun color when bred to all of Marlene's black jennets. Dun is dominant and it is not possible for it to hide. If it was present it would be expressed in his offspring. Thank you to Marlene and Connie for selling this fine jack to us.

These fantastic photos and videos would not have been possible without the expert handling of Katie Randall!

Presenting Secret Code...a proven Champion producer and a multiple Champion himself. This jack is so full of personalty that we play with him all day long. He could not have a nicer temperement or be easier to handle. The only thing he objects to is having his ears and his lower legs clipped. But we found that if you don't try to rush him and take your time he will tolerate it.

Code loves any kind of attention you will give him. He is quite intelligent too and picks up new things in record time with a willing attitude. Code has won Best of Breed and Grand Champion Jack several times in his show career. He was also the American Council of Spotted Asses National Champion. He was the South Carolina State Fair Grand Champion for five years in a row. He is trained well for halter and in-hand obstacles. It would not take long to teach him how to drive and what a sharp looking driving donkey he would make.

He is an easy breeder and has been pastured with jennets for most of his breeding career. He has sired 25 foals and 15 of those foals have been spotted making his percentage of producing spots at 60%. He has sired 13 jennets and 12 jacks.

Code is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino and Influenze that he last had on March 1st, 2017. He was vaccinated for West Nile and Rabies on 5/28/17. He had his hooves last trimmed on 4/29/17.  He was last de-wormed with Zimectrin Gold on 4/26/17. He is double registered and microchipped and his papers are in order. He has a negative coggins report dated 5/01/17.

Code is a really fun donkey to own. If you want him on your farm you better hurry and put down a deposit as I don't think he will last for long.

Beanie and his half sister, Birdie (Flying Colors). It looks like Cool Beans will be following in his sire's hoof steps as he is a very well-balanced little guy.

Boy is Brickman ever tiny. Dark eyeliner all the way around both eyes too. We love the character of the little boy, Brick, in the situation comedy 'The Middle' and we wanted to name a donkey after  him. ***hanging my head and repeating in a whisper....... 'after him'*** Thank you to Dena Wilson for handling Brickman during his photo shoot.

Brick attended his very first show in April of 2011, and placed 1st in a very large foal class (8 entries) at the Mule Day Mini Mania Show in Columbia, Tennessee.

Brick attended his second show August of 2011, and placed 1st in an even larger weanling/yearling jacks to halter class (9 entries) against very stiff competion in Lebanan, Tennessee. Brick has defeated his stablemate, Jealous Much, every time he has shown against him. But don't tell Much.. We are so very proud of Brick.

2011 Tennessee Donkey ASSociation's High Poiint Halter Jack & Reserve High Point In-Hand Jack!Brick was the 2011 "High Point Halter Jack of Tennessee" and "Reserve High Point In-Hand Jack" after his first and only year of showing.  He tied with his stablemate, HHAA Jealous Much, for these awards.

We have been searching literally for years trying to find the perfect out-cross jack to breed to our Firefly daughters that we have retained over the years. The search has finally ended now that we have found SparksaFire.. Sparks was the 2007 Junior Grand Champion during The Great Celebration Mule & Donkey Show. We were delighted when we carefully measured him and he was a mere 31¼" tall. Thank you to Frank & Mary Williams of Short & Sweet Donkey Ranch for allowing Sparks to come to live at Half Ass Acres. We are in love with his perfect top-line, correct legs and gorgeous head.

Sparks was photographed the day after he was body clipped. He is the color of an old copper penny. He will be brighter in about a month and we may photograph him again if he looks even better.

We have been very happy with Sparks and the only reason we sold him is because we are getting out of breeding reds to reduce our numbers and work load. We are going to miss you Sparks.

This is one spectacular jack. We adore Ray but he is too closely related to most of our red jennets since we have retained so many of Firefly's daughters in our herd. We purchased a complete outcross red jack to breed to our Firefly daughters so Ray is not being used to his full potential. Ray is very heavy boned and correct with an adorable laid-back personality. He is living in our back yard now among all of our pet dogs and they get along splendidly. Photos and videos above were taken the day after he was body clipped. Video taken when Napoleon was a young jack. He has since
filled out as you can tell by the more recent video below. This
is what Napoleon's coat looks like when he is body clipped.

Napoleon on 2/17/10 in his full winter coat.

Napoleon is our spotted herd sire. He is a heavy-boned, compact jack with a tiny, short head, heavy jaw and correct legs. He has deep halos around every single one of his spots. He has a lot of interesting colors and donkeys in his background including McLendon's 45 Magnum, a 28 ¾" dark brown jack. This boy is undoubtably the most laid-back jack we have ever encountered.  He lives in our backyard with our dogs during the cold winter months when we don't want any foals born. Thank you to Ed and Linda Trimnell at Windcrest Acres for allowing us to purchase this fine boy.

Oh, how we did not want to part with Napoleon but we have retained his 2010 son, Jealous Much, as our new junior herd sire. It will be difficult to fill his sire's hooves.

Yes, we were watching Summer in her stall. Yes, she had some signs of foaling. Yes, we were watching for all the pacing and rolling, but she did not do any of those normal foaling things. She plopped right down and started delivering her foal. Joe and I ran to the barn as fast as we could get there and she was already pushing and having that foal. It was one of the fastest and best deliveries we’ve ever had on our farm. It was PERFECT and so is he….Le Roux. Yes, that is his name and suits him to a tee.

There has been so much drama at our farm since Feb 9th, with two of our jennets getting ill and us loosing Strawberry and her red jennet foal. Strawberry was the only donkey we have ever owned that “sang opera”…her bray was very unique and she captured the hearts of everyone who visited and were lucky enough to hear her serenade us with her opera brays. She loved doing it and we all loved hearing it. I am just so sad that I never captured her beautiful voice on tape. She can now serenade the donkeys in heaven with all the other angels. I must mention that Strawberry’s best friend  and half sister was Summer. These two girls were born only 2 days apart and have NEVER been separated…when sold they were always sold together as no one wanted to ever break up these two very special jennets. Their sire, The Fireman, is no longer producing foals.

I wanted to name a donkey that would honor Strawberry for all she gave to us and to others that were lucky enough to have met her. Thinking of names for this handsome new baby jack was my opportunity to name Strawberry’s legacy. The famous Opera, “Phantom of the Opera” was first a novel written by the French Novelist Gaston Le Roux. Many years later it became an Opera. The author’s last name Le Roux, in French, means red-haired. The minute I heard that I knew we would be naming this beautiful donkey Le Roux. He is a beauty and wears such a rich dark red coat, tons of personality and certainly has those herd sire qualities. He carries his pedigree well with bloodlines such as Windcrest Firefly, MGF Fiftyfire, The Fireman and several more. Le Roux has that stocky compact body with a show stopper head. He is small and very correct in every way as he weighed 23 lbs and was 21 inches tall. Le Roux is one of those few and far between jacks that are born with so many herd sire qualities but since his sire is Firefly and we have kept so many of his jennets to breed when they turn three that we will be offering Le Roux for sale. Some lucky farm that is searching for a handsome, dark red jack as a Jr. Herd Sire will love this all around spectacular jack. Who knows, maybe he’ll have an opera bray when he grows up.

Call to book an appointment to meet Le Roux…you will be more than impressed with his beauty in person.  This little boy is going to stay tiny.

Le Roux has already had his 1st set and booster vaccinations 3 weeks later of East/West Encep/Tet and West Nile. He will be given Rhino/Influenza vaccanations plus his booster before he leaves our farm.  His dam was given a booster of all vaccinations 30 days before he was born.

A big 'thank-you' to Jenny Eastep for helping us clip and photograph Le Roux for his 3 month old photo session and to Dena Wilson for her help with Le Roux's 7 month old photos. We could not have done such a good job without your help. Le Roux has a negative coggins report dated 7/02/10. He has an almost compltely full 4-generation pedigree with only two untraced spots.  The last photos and videos were taken the day after Le Roux was body-clipped. We expect him to turn a brighter and deeper red in a few weeks.

News Flash... We were expecting a great foal from this combination and we were not disappointed. Bling's sire is a half brother to MGF Future Link. Bling's name fits him perfectly as he has plenty of blingage.

Exciting News.. Bling has been sent to Kathy Loudamy at K&K Ranch in Texas for conditioning, training, and showing. We have confidence in Kathy's ability to make Bling a fine little show donkey.

Update. Bling is home from training and were we ever pleased with the condition and attitude of this little donkey after spending 110 days at Kathy Loudamy's training center at K & K Ranch in Texas. Bling has been trained to set up for halter, trot on command, back, and has been well started in trail obstacle.

We purchased an adult jack to use for our spotted herd sire as Bling is related to several of our donkeys so it is with great regret that we are now offering him for sale. Bling is up to date on all vaccinations including West Nile, Rabies, Strangles, E/W/T, Rhino, & Influenza. He has a negative coggins report dated 2/07/06.

We have a video of him performing trail while he was in training at Kathy's and I will send out a copy to interested buyers.

Bling's pedigree is very impressive with 'My World' bloodlines on the bottom and the top filled with small dark donkeys including blacks, no light points, and the tiny 28¾" McLendon's Magnum.

We are very excited to see what Primero will produce crossed with our foundation brood jennets. His pedigree is completely full and goes back to the original imports. It is filled with a variety of colors including sorrel but is dominated by darks. Primero is one of the few registered black and white herd sires in the country. He has a very unique spot pattern with deep halos around every spot. Our second foal crop of babies sired by Primero are due this spring. Photo of Primero's sire, Primo, compliments of Kim Zellers.

We are regretfully offering Primero for sale only because we have purchased another younger spotted jack and we don't have the room for another jack without selling someone. Primero has been nothing but a joy to own. He is very friendly, sweet, and easy to handle. He can be pasture or hand-bred. He is very gentle with the ladies. We have been very pleased with his offspring. He has a perfect bite, straight legs, and very correct conformation. His price is firm. It is very important to us that he goes to a loving home.

Plus he is as sweet as he can be. His pedigree has the best of both worlds with donkeys from Ass-Pirin Acres and My World Farm...two of the most pretigious sorrel breeders in the miniature donkey industry. Roady had his first set of vaccinations on 10/14/05 and his boosters were given on 11/01/05. Vaccinations given are Eastern, Western, Tetanus, Rhino, Flu, Venezuelan. He was last de-wormed on 1/07/06 with Equimectrin. His complete health records will be printed out in his book. Checkers has a long extended pedigree going back to the orginal imports. His dam is registered as a dark brown & white spot but I had her here on my farm and I body clipped her and she is definately a black and white spot. Here is another photo of his dam, Raggedy Ann. Checkers is a very sweet boy...easy to catch and easy to handle. He has had several baths and haircuts and he is use to being around people, dogs, and other donkeys. He is very, very dark brown and white..some of his spots look black. He just had a bath in the photos above and he was still wet and cold and had a hump in his back. He really has a very smooth top line. He has been shown one time and won the weanling/yearling jacks at halter class and was 3rd in the color class. He is up to date on vaccinations, worming and hoof trims. We will deliver Checkers within a reasonable distance for a small extra fee.

This was our third foal born under the internet barn cam...thanks to everyone who helped us watch. This little guy just doesn't take a bad photo.. We are not positive what color he will shed out to be but we think he may be dark brown (like his mom) and white...or he may be a grayish brown and white...he is a very unusual color..he has a little silver mane.

Cloud is our tiny little "Indian Pony" jack. It is hard to tell what color he will be when mature but he may shed to be a light brown/white spotted or an unusual shade of gray. He was born during the Nationals so we did not measure him until he was four days old with all the excitement going on. He has a tiny head, perfect bite, and very correct legs plus he already is a 'people' donkey and never mets a stranger. Notice the 'heart' shape on his hip. Cloud was named by his new owners..

Dam: B.J. Black Beauty, 32¾" Black

Rowdy is jet black with no visible cross. He has a wonderful disposition and loves everyone. He can be pasture bred or hand bred and he is extremely easy to handle. These winter photos don't do him justice and you can see by the three 'summer coat' photos how gorgeous he really is. Rowdy has blacks and spotteds in his world class pedigree. He has two foal crops on the ground and his babies have his great looks and temperament. Rowdy would make a fantastic show donkey as he has a lot or presence while still being a joy to handle...a rare combination for a jack. The first day we walked him up to a 15" coon jump he sailed right over it..yet he hardly moved a muscle while we were photographing and clipping him.
