Chaps
is out of My
World Holly, a jennet who was in
foal to Rearview's
Rear Rock (a sorrel jack owned by
My
World Farm in Plymouth, Ohio) that
one of my very best friends, Mary Hubbard,
and I bought together...Mary got the
mom and I got the baby..of course, I
was hoping for a sorrel jennet. Not only
did I NOT get my jennet but it wasn't
a sorrel either!
Mary
felt really sorry for me so she let me
keep Holly for one more year to try again
for a jennet foal. We both just love
those "My
World" bloodlines and since
our other good friend (Loretta) will
hardly part with her sorrel jennets I
was really praying for a jennet this
second time. Well, yes, wouldn't you
know out pops another jack foal. I was
talking to my great friend, Julia, and
I told her that Holly had her baby and
it was another dang jack. Julia said,
"Doesn't that just chap your a_ _!!"
I said, "Yes, and that is what I am going
to name him!!" So I am giving up on ever
owning a 'My World' jennet for the time
being! Chaps is being offered for sale
as a pet quality gelding only due to
the fact that his front legs are not
perfectly straight. His legs are sound
and they will not effect him in anyway
as a pet or driving donkey. I love geldings
but I also like to show and the geldings
have gotten so competitive in the show
ring now that they need to have outstanding
conformation to stand up to the present
competition. This is a wonderful sign
of how miniature donkeys are progressing!
Chaps can have a wonderful life as a
beloved family pet and can be your chance
to own a donkey at a bargain price to
see if this is the pet for you and your
family!
